Tal graduated from Cambridge University and Guy's Hospital, London University. He trained in the UK at Cambridge, Oxford and London. In addition
to his specialist training, he completed a one year Fertility Fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and a two year Fellowship in minimal access
(keyhole) gynaecological surgery at St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Hospitals.
Once he had completed his Specialist training in ,the UK, he moved to New Zealand where he was appointed as Senior Lecturer at the University of
Auckland and Consultant at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand where he was the lead for laparoscopic gynaecological surgery. He also ran a
very successful private practice.
In early 2010 Tal moved to Brisbane to take up a post as Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mater Mother's Hospital, Brisbane. He is
also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and is an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and
Gynaecology membership exam.
His original research on endometriosis, pelvic pain, infertility, and the safety and ergonomics of laparoscopic surgery has been published in peer reviewed
journals and presented at international conferences. He has been awarded the Cutler's Company Surgical Fellowship and several other prizes and
awards for his minimal access surgery research and has undertaken travelling fellowships to the USA, Germany, and Austria.
Tal is known for his patient centred philosophy with a focus on providing effective, efficient and evidence-based care. He has a professional,
confidential and errlpathic approach and offers services in general gynaecology with a specific interest and experience in the management of
endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, infertility, menstrual disorders and complications of early pregnancy.
